Under Armour Ends Footwear Supplier Deal with WNBA

Under Armour declined to renew its partnership as “Authorized Footwear Supplier” with the WNBA. As a result, WNBA players with Under Armour endorsement deals must tape over the brand’s logos or wear logo-free sneakers during games. 

“At this time, UA, Curry Brand are not Authorized WNBA Footwear Providers. So, as per the CBA, players who have endorsement agreements with UA are required to cover the logos,” a league source told Front Office Sports. 

Under the latest CBA, players must wear Nike-branded apparel due to the brand’s partnership with the NBA, WNBA, and G League. Players may only wear other sneaker brands in games as well as practices, and press events if the brand is an “Authorized Footwear Supplier” and the player secures a “Qualifying Shoe Deal” with the brand.
