Badwater 135 champion lowers women’s 100-mile world record

February 22, 2026

Ashley Paulson, a former pro triathlete turned ultrarunner, has built a remarkable career in the sport over recent years, winning and capturing PBs in some of the world’s toughest races. This weekend, she added a world record to her running resume.

On Friday at the Jackpot 100 Mile in Henderson, Nev., Paulson ran 12:19:34 for 100 miles, setting a new women’s world best pending ratification by the International Association of Ultrarunners. The race doubled as the USATF 100 Mile National Championships and was held on a certified loop course, meaning the mark is eligible for official recognition. Paulson’s performance came just over three months after Caitriona Jennings set the previous record at the Tunnel Hill 100. CANADIAN Running Magazine
