Team Milk Brings Every Woman’s Marathon To New Orleans For Year Three
February 26, 2026

WASHINGTON, D.C.(February 26, 2026) /SPORTSWIRE WOMEN/ — Team Milk’s Every Woman’s Marathon, the only U.S. marathon designed by women, for women, will take place in New Orleans, Louisiana on February 28, 2027, bringing the event’s signature celebration of community, achievement and empowerment to the Crescent City.
A USATF-certified course, the race allows runners to qualify for the Boston Marathon, while also reimagining the traditional marathon experience through a lens centered around women’s needs, goals and experiences. Every Woman’s Marathon was designed to welcome women runners of all ages, abilities and experience levels, including those taking on their first marathon. In its first two years, more than 40% of runners were first-time marathoners — a clear signal of the race’s role in bringing more women into the sport. The event’s enhanced on-course amenities, longer-than-average finish window, expert training guides from Team Milk, and celebratory weekend atmosphere are by design, prioritizing connection, support and celebration over competition. The event also supports adaptive athletes and is wheelchair accessible.
“We’re thrilled to bring Every Woman’s Marathon’s electric energy to New Orleans,” said Miranda Abney, MilkPEP VP of Consumer Marketing. “Historically, women have been underrepresented in long-distance running and Team Milk created this marathon to give women an experience that truly centers around them. Every Woman’s Marathon provides a supportive community environment where women of all abilities can come together to celebrate movement. We can’t wait to bring this experience to the streets of this incredible city.”
Every Woman’s Marathon continues to partner with pioneers in running to help guide and elevate every aspect of the New Orleans race experience. Returning captains include: Kathrine Switzer, the first woman to officially run the Boston Marathon and a lifelong champion of women’s running; Des Linden, 2018 Boston Marathon champion; Deena Kastor, Olympic bronze medalist; Danielle McLaughlin cancer survivor, adaptive athlete and former paratriathlon world champion and Katelyn Hutchison three-time NCAA All-American and 2023 Runner’s World Runner of the Year.
As part of Team Milk’s commitment to supporting runners, the event highlights dairy milk’s foundational nutrition as a simple and cost effective performance beverage. A glass of dairy milk, including lactose-free, delivers a unique nutrient package tailored for runners, with essential nutrients including high-quality protein to support lean muscle development and B vitamins for sustained energy. Chocolate milk also has the right 3:1 carb-to-protein ratio to help runners rehydrate, rebuild and repair muscle.
Early access registration opened last week exclusively for Team Milk subscribers and more than 3,000 women have already signed up. Registration opens to the public on Thursday, February 26, 2026 at EveryWomansMarathon.com starting at just $100, early bird pricing.
