Town Hall Inspires Kids to Love Outdoors
Steamboat Springs, Colorado (March 8, 2022) /SPORTSWIRE WOMEN/ – A new outdoor brand for kids has launched in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Town Hall Outdoor Co offers a collection of sustainable, durable outdoor apparel built for kids and created by outdoor industry veterans. Made of recycled materials and designed to keep kids warm, dry and comfortable for hours of outdoor fun, the co-founders are adamant that the gear they create contributes to raising planet positive kids and endures through multiple hand-me-ups (more coveted than a hand-me-down).
How Town Hall Started:
When Town Hall CEO and co-founder Robin Hall was faced with a move to Denver for her previous job, she took stock of her priorities and passions. They boiled down to community, kids and the planet. “Leaving Steamboat and this community in Northern Colorado, which my family has made our home for the past 13 years, was not something I considered,” says Robin. She realized this was an opportunity to create a livelihood and company that reflected her values and could make a positive impact. Robin and her fellow founders, Jay Lambert and Joe Solomon, identified a void in the kids outdoor apparel market. The outerwear options out there for kids include shrunk down versions of adult styles, which are less than optimal for kids, or are made so cheaply that they wear out before being outgrown. They knew they could deliver a better option. Robin continues “Town Hall combines kids and community – our reason for being, outdoor apparel – what we’re good at, and the planet – what we are passionate about.”
Town Hall Styles:
Town Hall’s inaugural collection for Fall 2021/Winter 2022 includes four styles. Robin describes the collection as “Packed with smart features for active kids. Our look is current, clean and fun, not juvenile. We spend hours listening to and wear-testing with our mountain town kids to ensure we are meeting their wants and needs. We are building go-to wardrobe staples for kids which are well-designed, unique, and trusted.” Common features include: Recycled fabrics and insulations, Grow seams which are easily removed to extend length, Pockets and details sized for ease for small hands and quality materials and construction built to endure through multiple hand-me-ups (more coveted than a hand-me-down and the best way to be sustainable).

The Town Hall Community:
Robin Hall, a 15-year outdoor industry veteran, has purposefully moved around within the companies she has worked for to diversify her experience. In creating Town Hall, she has found a way to utilize and combine her many skills including strategic leadership, operations and building a mission, vision, values and purpose into the brand. Town Hall is the epicenter of her passions, bringing together community, environmental stewardship, kids and the outdoors. To keep life balanced, Robin joyfully spends a lot of time outdoors with her kids, cycles with friends and travels with her family. Robin recently completed her goal of running every single street in Steamboat Springs in order to “see all of this great community and try something new during the COVID-19 pandemic,” she says.
Jay Lambert, one of the company co-founders and the COO brings deep, outdoor industry supply chain knowledge. Joe Solomon, the other co-founder and VP of Business Development provides start-up acumen, a passion for spreading the company vision and sales channel diversification.
Town Hall is legally established as a Public Benefit Corporation whereby it promises to be planet positive by contributing more to the planet and its people than it takes and contributes to the wellbeing of the communities of Northwest Colorado. The Town Hall founders have committed 3% of net revenue annually to support organizations working to make long-lasting, positive impacts on communities and the planet. Starting close to home, their initial beneficiary partners include Steamboat’s Integrated Community and Boys & Girls Club, where they not only send dollars, but volunteer time in the community as well. The choice of youth organizations was deliberate and is stated in the brand’s vision “We want every kid to love being outside which is the great equalizer, regardless of color, size, age, gender, socioeconomic background, religion or sexual orientation. Being outside is free to enjoy, promotes physical and mental health and you can make what you want of it. And the more young people who love the outside, the more they want to sustain, maintain and save the places that they love to play,” says Robin.
