Meet the Women Who Have Been Building the Cycling Industry All Along

Despite the strides toward inclusivity and the growing number of women on bikes, the cycling industry remains heavily male-dominated. From manufacturing floor to executive boardrooms, the “old boys’ club” atmosphere often persists. However, a powerful shift is underway. Women are no longer just asking for a seat at the table; they are building their own tables and redesigning the entire room while they’re at it.
To understand how the industry is evolving, I spoke with several women leaders who are driving change from the inside out. Their work spans everything from engineering and product design to marketing and professional team management.
For years, the industry’s approach to female consumers was colloquially known as “shrink it and pink it”—taking men’s products, making them smaller, and painting them pink.
