The current group of elite U.S. women trail runners focusing on shorter-distance mountain races is the strongest it’s ever been. This year, they are looking to make an even bigger splash on the world stage.
“Women are the dominant force driving growth in the U.S,” says race commentator Corrine Malcolm. “They are the biggest stories and the top performers right now. There’s a lull between the last and next generation of American males, but the women’s field is completely stacked.
