September 16, 2025

Presented by Stio, Girl Winter, the premiere femme-forward ski and snowboard film tour, is bringing winter stoke and festivities to theatres across North America, kicking off October 9th in Park City, Utah
PARK CITY, UTAH (Sept. 16, 2025) /SPORTSWIRE WOMEN/ – Building on the success of last year’s debut, the Girl Winter Film Tour, presented by Stio, returns to theatres across North America with an expanded program celebrating women and non-binary voices in snowsports. The 2025 lineup delivers six films from diverse perspectives, community activations, and live music at select stops — making Girl Winter the must-attend, grab-your-allies snow film event of the season.
“The submissions this year were of such a high caliber,” said Katie Cooney, creative director of Girl Winter and co-founder of Moonrise Studio. “The talent, both in front of and behind the lens, is redefining women’s ski culture, and we can’t wait to share.”
Featuring six “snack-size” films ranging from 3 to 25 minutes, Girl Winter channels the variety and energy of the girl dinner trend — guaranteed to satisfy an appetite for fresh new voices in snowsports. This year’s lineup features Indigenous storytellers, professional athletes, and everyday women, with themes that span lighthearted friendship, the intricacies of motherhood, stories of redemption, and more.
“Representation is so important for the next generation to believe they can build a more diverse and equitable snow community,” said Sierra Schlag, professional skier and brand director for Girl Winter. “I hope the tour inspires skiers of all genders, ages, and orientations to enjoy winter, pursue their dreams, and live their own authentic story.”
The premiere kicks off in Park City, Utah, on Oct. 9, with an evening of films, athlete Q&As, live music, and a friendship-bracelet station sponsored by Ski Utah. A nationwide run of tour stops will follow, each promising a community-driven celebration of skiing. Exclusive Girl Winter merchandise will be available, including limited-edition t-shirts and hats, custom Yeti items, biodegradable glitter, and a special-edition beanie in collaboration with Stio.
