Mark Allen Signals Major New Initiative to Boost Women’s Participation in Triathlon

December 2, 2025

Mark Allen, one of the greatest athletes in triathlon history and a six-time Ironman World Champion, used his Instagram platform this week to signal a major development for women in the sport. Allen has been a visible advocate for equity in triathlon, including leading a petition that pushed Ironman to review its age group qualification system for the Ironman World Championship. While that effort contributed to meaningful adjustments for age group women competing in Kona, Allen says the work is far from complete.

In his latest post, Allen confirmed that a new women-focused initiative will be unveiled on December 4th. Called Limitless, A Women’s Triathlon Initiative, the program aims to create a pathway for 500 women to find or renew their passion for triathlon over a twelve-month period at no cost. triathlon MAGAZINE
