Saudi Arabia launches first women’s soccer league

Saudi soccer officials on Saturday said they will launch the first edition of a women’s league later this month.
Women’s sports have long frowned upon in conservative Saudi Arabia. But the Nov. 22 launch is part of a program set up by the Saudi Arabian Football Federation in 2017 to support women’s soccer. Japan Times
