Denver, Colorado, USA /SPORTSWIRE WOMEN/ — The producers of the Outspoken: Women in Triathlon Summit presented by Cervélo are excited to announce a continued Juno level partnership with Women For Tri®, an initiative of IRONMAN® and The IRONMAN Foundation®. Women For Tri will provide scholarships to four successful applicants to cover virtual registration for the 2021 Outspoken: Women in Triathlon Summit presented by Cervélo taking place November 12th-14th.
“It was such an honor to be chosen as a scholarship recipient for the 2019 Outspoken: Women in Triathlon Summit. It was an amazing opportunity to meet and hear from some amazing women in the triathlon community and make some wonderful new friends. I learned so much and participating in the summit gave me more confidence in my triathlon journey. I cannot wait to be able to attend another summit!” shares Tara Hunter, the 2019 Women For Tri Scholarship winner.
“A primary mission for Women For Tri is breaking down the barriers to entry for females entering the sport of triathlon. Working to provide scholarships has allowed us to directly impact this focus, and we are excited to once again be involved with the Outspoken: Women in Triathlon Summit,” shares Audra Tassone-Indeck, Executive Director at The IRONMAN Foundation.
Dr. Sara Gross, one of the co-founders of the Outspoken Summit shares: “The Outspoken Summit is about increasing equity for all women in triathlon, and we want to ensure that financial constraints don’t prevent anyone from joining us. Scholarships from Women For Tri increase the accessibility of the event and provide the opportunity for more women to attend.”
“I am really grateful to Women For Tri and their continued commitment to women’s equity in the sport. The team at WFT are invested in making a difference in all women’s lives and have expressed their commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion. After the events of 2020, WFT has focused its efforts on what they do best – increasing opportunities for women in the sport and expanding access to training and racing. The Summit’s continued growth is dependent on organizations and businesses stepping up and recognizing the need for what we are trying to do,” says Dr. Lisa Ingarfield, Summit co-founder.
