Feisty Media Celebrates Women’s Cycling with “More Women More Miles” Program Culminating at UNBOUND 2025

Emporia, Kansas (May 27, 2025) /SPORTSWIRE WOMEN/ — Girls Gone Gravel, a Feisty Media brand, in partnership with Life Time, is proud to spotlight the More Women More Miles initiative — a powerful movement to get more women to the start line of gravel events, culminating at the world-renowned UNBOUND Gravel.
Launched in January 2025, More Women More Miles was designed to increase women’s participation in gravel cycling, a space where women have historically made up less than 20% of the fields. The six-month program included bi-monthly education sessions to prepare women for the race, as well as community connections — all completely free and open to any woman.
In a major show of support, UNBOUND Gravel also opened up an additional 75 spots specifically for women this year, directly reflecting the demand and momentum generated by the program. These slots quickly filled, highlighting the hunger for more inclusive opportunities at endurance events.
“More Women More Miles is the kind of collaboration we love—bringing together the Feisty/Girls Gone Gravel team and our Life Time UNBOUND Gravel team to elevate women’s cycling in a meaningful way.” said Kristi Mohn, Marketing Manager for Life Time Off-Road Events for and co host of the Girls Gone Gravel podcast. “Having partners who champion this kind of work year-round makes all the difference. And we know it’s working—because we’re seeing more women lining up at the start of the 100 and 200-mile races. We also know they are feeling more confident because of the programming they have offered leading up to the event.”
Throughout the program, participants received coaching and inspiration from top athletes including Life Time Grand Prix champion Haley Smith, UNBOUND XL winner Kristen Legan, and Leadville winner Hannah Otto. And UNBOUND legend Alison Tetrick will ride the 100-mile event alongside participants, helping to bring the initiative full circle.
“UNBOUND is the ultimate gravel experience, and we wanted to build a path that made that start line feel more accessible and empowering for women of all backgrounds,” said Girls Gone Gravel podcast host, Kathryn Taylor. “But this program is about more than just race day. It’s about showing up for yourself, building confidence, and doing it in a supportive community.”
The program has had over 500 participants since January. Not all of the women will participate in UNBOUND this year, but the the impact for those lining up on Saturday has been both personal and powerful:
“I started training alone but ended up discovering a whole community. I’ve ridden new places, met amazing women, and found confidence I didn’t expect.” — Andrea Cirbian
“I registered for UNBOUND thinking I’d be on my own, unsure if I belonged. More Women More Miles gave me the education, support, and connection I needed — and reminded me I’m not alone.” — Rachel Mae Taylor
As UNBOUND 2025 approaches, More Women More Miles riders will take to the start line not only ready to race — but ready to represent a growing movement of women reclaiming space and redefining success in endurance sports.
