A Bold New Podcast Kicking Off with Coverage of the Tour de France Femmes
/SPORTSWIRE WOMEN/ – The world of women’s cycling is about to get the podcast it deserves. The QueenStage Women’s Cycling Podcast is set to launch just in time for the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift (TdFFaZ), bringing together four of the most respected journalists in the cycling world to break down each stage, offer in-depth insights, and bring new cycling fans to the sport.
The name refers to the most challenging and prestigious stage in a multi-day race—an apt metaphor for this new venture. The QueenStage Women’s Cycling Podcast will bring smart, sharp, personality-driven insights to the sport’s biggest races, starting with previews and daily coverage of the 2025 TdFFaZ.
Meet the QueenStage SuperGroup:
- Molly Hurford: Shred Girls author, cycling journalist and podcaster, and longtime advocate for women in sport
- Rosael Torres-Davis: cycling journalist with a sharp eye for culture and community—and longtime pro cycling super-fan
- Anne-Marije Rook: North American Editor of Cycling Weekly, veteran journalist and one of the most respected women’s voices in cycling
- Betsy Welch: a veteran racing reporter and registered nurse whose immersive, on-the-ground storytelling makes her one of cycling’s most fearless and insightful voices
With renowned podcast audio engineer Andrea Kristinsdottir onboard for sound, graphic design by Tasha Kim, and Ruckus Composites’ Shawn Small bringing it all together, QueenStage is built by and for people who care deeply about the sport, as well as for those who are just now starting to fall in love with it.
“I’m stoked to see this project come to life,” says Rook. “The Tour de France Femmes is such an exciting and wonderful opportunity to celebrate women’s cycling and to connect fans, new and old, to the sport. I believe QueenStage fills a real gap: That of a well-produced women’s cycling podcast that stands on its own, created by professional storytellers who’ve been championing women’s cycling for decades. My hope is that we’ll offer listeners fresh insights, celebrate the incredible athletes in the sport, and spark a genuine interest in women’s cycling at the Tour and beyond.”
“I’m thrilled to be part of Queen Stage because women’s cycling is still wildly undercovered, and it deserves the same depth, energy, and visibility as any major sport,” adds Torres-Davis. “This podcast isn’t just about race results; it’s about storytelling, strategy, and the culture that makes the women’s peloton so compelling. Between the four of us, we bring decades of experience as journalists, riders, and diehard fans. It’s time for cycling to hop on the tidal wave that is women’s sports—and Queen Stage is our way of riding that wave with smart conversation, sharp analysis, and a whole lot of heart.”
“Each of us has spent much of our careers pushing for women’s coverage like this,” says Hurford. “To get to come together on a project like this is going to be a blast for us—and hopefully for listeners as well!”
“I wanted to shine a light on the athletes, action, and untold stories of women’s cycling—with the nuance, passion, and authority the sport has long deserved,” Small says. “When I put out the call for hosts and people to make it happen, I couldn’t believe how many people responded that they wanted to be part of it, or wanted to listen to a show like this. I wanted to do this right: Bring on the most qualified people as hosts, but also bring on a team to ensure that the audio and visual components were of the high quality that women’s cycling deserves. And the caliber of hosts who signed on has blown me away—I can’t wait to listen!”
