LA’s Angel City FC: New chapter for women’s rights and pay equity?

Los Angeles has a brand new professional women’s soccer team: Angel City Football Club. Their home field is Banc of California Stadium in Exposition Park — where a local pro men’s team, LA Football Club, launched three years ago.

Despite soccer being a popular sport in Southern California and globally, it’s been 12 years since LA had a women’s pro team. That was the LA Sol, which only lasted one season before folding. KCRW
