LOVB pro volleyball to add expansion franchise in San Francisco

League One Volleyball (LOVB) is in a golden state of mind following the announcement of its newest franchise.

On Thursday, Dec. 18, the women’s professional indoor volleyball league announced it’s expanding to the Bay Area with the LOVB San Francisco franchise, bringing the total number of teams in the league to nine by 2027.

LOVB San Francisco has a women-led ownership group that features several Olympians, including three-time Olympic volleyball medalist Kelsey Robinson Cook. Cook was the first player to commit to LOVB and led Atlanta to a league-best 13-3 record in its inaugural season. USA Today
