OOFOS Teams Up with Her Campus Media in a Groundbreaking Initiative for College Athletes

September 4, 2025

More than 1,500 athletes will have the opportunity to receive their first NIL deal

Braintree, MA (September 4, 2025) /SPORTSWIRE WOMEN/ – OOFOS, the global leader in Active Recovery footwear, has teamed up with Her Campus Media (HCM), the top media and marketing ecosystem for college women, for an exciting new partnership centered around the Her Campus Athletic Club. This groundbreaking initiative is set to uplift, empower, and energize college athletes as they navigate the evolving sponsorship world at the intersection of sports and digital influence.

Through this collaboration, OOFOS will serve as the official recovery footwear sponsor of the Her Campus Athletic Club. At the center of the initiative is the opportunity for each participating athlete – more than 1,500 – to opt into a brand partnership with OOFOS. Within this expansive network of athletes, these brand partnerships may likely be their very first Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) deal, providing a unique opportunity to use this experience as a training ground for honing their branding skills. Each athlete will receive a pair of OOFOS recovery slides and a curated Team OOFOS creator kit, which includes premium gear and tools to help them create content and share their stories. OOFOS is championing the active lifestyles student athletes live on campus – providing recovery footwear to support them physically and resources to help them grow their personal brands and creator careers.

“Supporting athletes, especially women in sports, as they balance their training, competition, and personal growth is core to who we are at OOFOS,” said Liz White, Chief Marketing Officer at OOFOS. “The Her Campus Athletic Club provides the perfect platform to give these student-athletes not just recovery footwear, but real opportunities to learn, grow, and take their first step into brand partnerships. We’re proud to be part of their journey.”

Launched to champion student-athletes both on and off the field, the Her Campus Athletic Club delivers powerful education, resources, and community designed to help athletes grow personal brands and authentic audiences while balancing the demands of academics and athletic commitments. Leveraging HCM’s unmatched reach, cultural insight and unique position in the marketplace, the Her Campus Athletic Club serves as a dynamic bridge between leading brands and a new generation of Gen Z athletes – fierce competitors who double as campus leaders, trendsetters, and influential voices shaping the future of sports, style, and social conversation. By partnering with OOFOS, Her Campus Media is amplifying the reach and impact of the Her Campus Athletic Club, unlocking meaningful opportunities for student-athletes that go far beyond the game.

A recent survey by HCM of more than 700 college students revealed nearly nine in 10 Gen Z women are sports fans, 73% follow at least one women’s college sport, and nearly six in 10 are more interested in women’s sports today than just a year ago. Further, 45% say they’re more likely to purchase from brands that invest in college sports. Despite this surging demand, women’s sports still receive only 10% of sponsorship dollars – leaving major equity gaps.

“Gen Z women are the heartbeat of the women’s sports movement, driving both cultural momentum and consumer behavior,” shares Katrina Campanale, SVP, Head of Sales at Her Campus Media. “By partnering with OOFOS as the first-ever official recovery footwear partner of the Her Campus Athletic Club, we’re not only championing the next generation of female athletes, but also giving brands an authentic way to connect with Gen Z women who are redefining fandom, influence, and purchasing power in sports.”

OOFOS has taken a thoughtful, innovative approach to NIL, creating opportunities that feel authentic to the brand and impactful for athletes. From its first-of-its-kind sponsorship of the University of South Carolina women’s basketball practice squad, the Highlighters, to a partnership with March Madness standout Jack Gohlke, OOFOS is redefining what athlete collaborations can look like. This new partnership with Her Campus Media builds on that approach, expanding OOFOS’ commitment to supporting athletes with resources and opportunities to grow their personal brands while balancing the demands of academics and competition.

“This community is all about supporting the next generation of athletes at this critical inflection point for the visibility of women’s sports,” says Stephanie Kaplan Lewis, Co-founder & CEO at Her Campus Media. “We feel so lucky to do so with a partner as authentic to this mission as OOFOS, who has a track record of supporting athletes throughout their journeys.”
