July 12, 2022
Salomon will help elevate the mission and messaging of the intersectional women’s hike club
OGDEN, Utah (July 12, 2022)/SPORTSWIRE WOMEN/ – Today, Salomon North America announces its partnership with Hike Clerb, a Los Angeles-based intersectional women’s hike club and non-profit that equips Black, Indigenous, women of color with the tools, resources and experiences they need to collectively heal in nature. In this new partnership, Salomon will help amplify the organization’s forces to bring a voice to underrepresented women of color and minorities within the outdoor space to create a more inclusive and welcoming environment.
“Salomon is passionate and committed to welcoming individuals from all backgrounds to enjoy and explore outdoor spaces. We know how important it is to create a welcoming space and are excited to partner with an organization that has and continues to make significant strides in creating a more inclusive outdoors,” says Jennifer Horowitz, Salomon North America outdoor marketing manager. “Founder, Evelynn Escobar, and the Hike Clerb team have exciting plans this year and we look forward to collaborating on the organization’s new initiatives, which will focus on increasing access and education for underrepresented communities in the outdoors.”
A big focus of this partnership will be the launch of the New York City Hike Clerb chapter. Salomon and Hike Clerb will hold several activations in NYC throughout August that aim to garner interest, create a community and build the foundation for the chapter to grow. Highlights of the month-long launch include a women’s panel series and dinner, a bus trip out of the city to nearby pristine hiking locations, a “Train to Trails” hiking day to emphasize the proximity and accessibility of outdoor spaces in New York and a glamping weekend getaway for a small group of women to further connect with one another and nature.
“We see Salomon as an innovator in creating a bridge to outdoor recreation for people of all walks of life. It’s a brand predominantly seen out in the city streets and trails alike. It’s this blend of sport and style that makes a partnership with Hike Clerb, and the work we’re doing to inspire our creative community to take up space in the outdoors, a perfect match,” shares Hike Clerb founder, Evelynn Escobar. “Through this partnership, we will gain the resources to help expand our physical reach—from helping us launch our New York chapter to providing tools for underserved youth of color to connect with greenscapes and so much more. We are so proud to have found a partner in Salomon.”
In addition to launching the new chapter, Salomon will be helping support Hike Clerb group leaders with training around sustainability, wilderness knowledge and more. Salomon will also be welcoming Escobar as a face of the brand’s outdoor category and amplifying the organization on the brands social channels.
Salomon and Hike Clerb officially kicked off the brand partnership on July 1, 2022. To learn more about Salomon’s partnership with Hike Clerb, please reach out to Corinne Baud at corinne.baud@rygr.us
