April 5, 2022
Earth Beauty, SageAndRain, Duck And Chick Named Winners and the Newest Brands Included in Title Nine’s Pop-Up Shop
Emeryville, Calif, April 5, 2022/SPORTSWIRE WOMEN/ – Title Nine, the adventure and outdoor apparel retailer that encourages women to lead, risk and own, is proud to announce the winners of its first-annual Pitchfest Girls. Pitchfest Girls is the newest edition to Title Nine’s Pitchfest series, an entrepreneurial competition in which women are offered the opportunity to showcase their talents, promote their businesses, receive mentorship from the Title Nine community, and win a cash prize as well as the chance to be featured in Title Nine’s pop-up shop this coming April.
Similar to Pitchfest Outdoor and Pitchfest Nonprofit, Pitchfest Girls was created to provide a platform for the next generation of women leaders and entrepreneurs and give them the valuable tools needed to reach their goals and flourish in the competitive outdoor, athletic, and lifestyle spaces and industries we see today.
The 11 finalists (ages 11-15) convened in Emeryville, CA on March 26th for a one-day experience where they were able to connect with other young women making a difference in their communities, play games, and prepare their pitches. They received feedback and mentorship from the Title Nine staff as well as from one of the best speech and debate coaches in the area, 2021 Pitchfest Non-Profit winner, AnnMarie Baines.
“Seeing the amount of success we’ve had through our previous Pitchfests, we wanted to open it up to the next generation of female leaders through Pitchfest Girls and bring forward another opportunity of success for women-lead businesses,” said Lisa Gilliland, Title Nine Events & Community Builder. “Today we had the opportunity to help each individual brand grow and develop into something even more special and it was another incredible day for women. We are very excited to see the three winners flourish, give back, and lead change through their businesses.”
After much deliberation, the winners of the 2022 Pitchfest Girls, hosted by Title Nine are: Khushi and Mahek Mehrotra (Ages 14 and 13) of Earth Beauty; Talia Beraudo (Age 13) of SageAndRain, and Brianna Wong (Age 11) of Duck And Chick.
“All I can say is ‘wow!’. The young women in our communities have a bright future ahead of them and we are happy to be a part of it in every small or big way possible,” said Missy Park, founder & CEO of Title Nine. “We know each person and brand has the ability to go far and achieve something great despite the end result of Pitchfest Girls.”
